Elephone has made its dual-boot smartphone, Elephone Vowney, available for pre-orders. The smartphone is priced at $299.99 (approx. Rs. 19,851) dual-boots Windows 10 Mobile and Android Lollipop 5.0. The device can be pre-ordered from Elephone’s website and will be released on September 30.
Apart from the dual-boot feature, the phone packs in good specs as well. It sports a 5.5-inch Quad HD display with a pixel density of 535ppi. It runs on a quad-core Intel processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. The phone has a 20.7MP rear camera with the Sony Exmor IMX230 sensor with dual-LED flash and support for 4K video recording. It also has an 8MP front facing camera and a fingerprint sensor at the back along with a 4,200mAh battery at the back. The phone has a 64GB built-in storage and supports microSD card up to 64GB.
There is also one more variant of the phone that runs on Android Lollipop 5.0 alone. While the specs of this phone are mostly the same, it has an octa-core MediaTek MT6795 chipset clocked at 2.2GHz with a 3800mAh battery. The phone was spotted first at a Hong Kong trade fair in April this year.
Further, Elephone could also be the first smartphone company to release a smartphone running on MediaTek’s upcoming flagship chipset, Helio X20. A device, Elephone P9000, was listed on the company’s website with the X20 SoC along with 4GB of RAM. As per the listing, the device is priced at $499.99 (Rs. 33,034) and will go on sale from October 20 this year.
